Stop Killing Your Milwaukee Batteries! XH M609 Fix
If you use Milwaukee M12 or M18 batteries or many other makes for DIY projects, there is a "trap" that could permanently destroy them. Most power tool batteries (except Ryobi and Rigid) rely on the tool itself for low-voltage protection. When you use them for custom lights or gear, they can drain to 0V and become useless "bricks." In this video, I show you the inexpensive XH-M609 module that solves this problem for just a few dollars. I’ll walk you through the wiring, the math for M12 and M18 cutoff voltages, and how to set a reconnect gap to protect your cells. Land Rover Wheel Alignment: 3D Scanning & Printing a DIY Laser Tool
I use the Creality Otter Lite 3D Scanner and 3D printing to create a custom laser alignment tool for my Land Rover Discovery. This guide covers the full process from scanning the wheel hub to final alignment." The Workflow: 3D Scanning: Rather than spending hours trying to manually reverse-engineer the complex geometry of the Land Rover wheels, I used the Creality Otter Lite to capture a precise point cloud of the hub and rim. This allowed me to create a digital "fingerprint" of the wheel for a perfect fit. CAD Design & 3D Printing: In Fusion 360, I used the scan data as a template to design a custom mounting block that snaps perfectly onto the contours of the wheel. This block serves as a stable base for a laser pen holder, which was then 3D printed for immediate use. Precision Alignment: By mounting the 3D-printed laser tool to the hub, I could project a perfectly straight line onto the floor. This setup allowed me to measure "toe-in" with far greater accuracy than traditional string methods, making it easy to adjust the lower wishbone bolts and get the steering back on track. This project is a great example of how 3D scanning can turn a tedious manual measurement task into a fast, repeatable, and high-tech DIY solution. Note: This is a target adjustment to safely get the steering wheel centered and the truck drivable; full four-wheel tracking procedure will follow in a future video. Creality Otter Lite: The AMD Truth (Review & Fixes)
I finally bought my first 3D scanner—the Creality CR-Scan Otter Lite. Watch me test it on my AMD Ryzen 5 / RX7800 XT setup, troubleshoot the Android app crashes, and reverse engineer a backpack sprayer for a custom fabrication project. Thinking about buying the Creality CR-Scan Otter for reverse engineering, but running an AMD-based PC build? Before spending your budget, watch this honest, unpaid hobbyist review to see how it actually handles tracking, driver timeouts, and the mobile app. In this real-world workshop test, we put the Creality CR-Scan Otter 3D scanner through its paces without the sponsored hype. As a long-time Fusion 360 user diving into 3D scanning for the first time, I break down the entire process: from point cloud generation and noise removal to final meshing and exporting an STL file. We troubleshoot the frustrating AMD driver timeout errors, explore workarounds for lost tracking on the Android app using a Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, and look at the critical role of matte scanning spray on shiny objects. Plus, see practical, raw results of reverse engineering projects including tool batteries, a vacuum body, and a custom backpack sprayer modification, finished off with a detailed unboxing of the hardware and calibration kit. @CharlieChester Youtube Channel : https://www.youtube.com/@Charlie_Chester Creality Otter Lite https://amzn.to/4u3TF7O As an affiliate, I earn from qualifying purchases made through these links at no extra cost to you. @Creality3DScanner, @AMD 00:00 Intro and my First 3D Scanner (Creality Otter Lite) 01:40 Scanning a Backpack Sprayer 02:40 Processing the Mesh on an AMD PC 04:09 Importing to Fusion 360 & Meshmixer 05:08 Android App Crashing & Tracking Issues 07:35 My AMD PC Specs (Ryzen 5 7600X & RX7800 XT) 08:58 AMD Driver Timeouts & PC Freezing 13:14 Successful Scans (Bosch Battery & 12V Pump) 15:08 Final Impressions: Is it worth it on AMD? 16:09 Creality Otter Lite Unboxing

Hypertherm Powermax 45XP installing a new fan. error 3-10-1
In this video, I tackle the fan error code "3-10-0" on my Hypertherm Powermax 45xp Plasma Cutter. This machine has been a reliable workhorse for over 5 years of daily use, but recently this error has started appearing, especially during long cutting sessions. Living in Queensland, Australia, where temperatures regularly hit the mid-30s (°C) with high humidity, I suspect the weather is playing a role but it used to work just fine. The machine will work for 10–15 minutes before the plasma arc cuts out, displaying the error "3-10-0" which is a fan error. Restarting the power supply temporarily fixes the issue, but the error returns shortly after. With no qualified technicians nearby, I’m taking matters into my own hands to diagnose and repair the problem. Join me as I explore potential causes, and hopefully find a solution to get my plasma cutter back in action! If you like you can buy me a coffee: https://buymeacoffee.com/plasmadave

Inlet manifold Replacement Land Rover Discovery 3 & 4 TDV6 LR4
Do you need to replace the inlet manifold on your Land Rover Discovery 3 or 4? Watch this video for a step-by-step guide on how to get the job done. A cracked inlet manifold is a common fault on the Ford Lion V6 engine used in many vehicles and it is expensive to get done in a garage/workshop mainly due to the hours involved in doing the job. However, it is possible to replace the inlet manifold yourself with a good range of basic tools, the only real exception is the tool to remove the fan and possibly a slide hammer and adapter. This repair was a success but I fear the Right-hand manifold may now need replacing. Bleeding the fuel system on a Land rover Discovery 3 or 4
In this video I give a brief explanation of how to bleed the fuel system on a Land Rover Discovery 3 or 4. This process also applies to many other cars that have the Ford Lion V6 design engine such as Range Rover, Ford, Citroën and Jaguar etc.. When you do this procedure make sure that you have a well-charged battery as it will go flat pretty quickly. The procedure is necessary when you have opened the fuel system be that for a filter change or servicing the injectors etc. Cycle the ignition on a few times 10 to 165 should do it this will prime the system for bleeding. Then attach the bleed tube to the Schrader valve and cycle the ignition again a few times to see the air escape the system. You should then be good to go.

Land Rover Discovery 4 -V6 3.0 Oil Cooler Replacement LR4 it can be done!
In this must-see video, I take you step-by-step through the process of replacing the oil cooler on a Land Rover Discovery 4 / LR4 with a 3ltr V6 engine. This engine was designed by Ford and is known as the Lion V6 engine it can be found in many vehicles. If you're experiencing oil leaks or oil in your water then on the LR4/Discovery 4 it is highly likely that the problem is your oil cooler. The oil cooler sits in the V of the engine and access is extremely restricted it's not so bad on the Discovery 3 but is tricky on this car. This job is the stuff of myths and legends it's not easy but it is doable. After trying everything I can think of I took a controversial but very effective approach to completing the job. Having recently looked at a Discovery 3 the oil separator is bigger and I think the bracket was a legacy from that, the LR4 has a much smaller lighter separator. 0:00 - Introduction 0:20 - Disassembly 3:19 - Removing oil separator 4:37 - Trying to remove the Oil Cooler 5:45 - The problem 6:43 - The solution 7:50 - The oil Cooler comes out 9:00 - Viewing the cut bracket 10:29 - Reassembly 12:55 - Conclusion Tools used in this video Digital Torque wrench https://amzn.to/3QcfTqb Spanner Set https://amzn.to/436GEPJ Socket Set https://amzn.to/436GEPJ Mirror and magnetic pickup set https://amzn.to/4nVEZ9b Inspection Camera https://amzn.to/4uBEeVm As an affiliate, I earn from qualifying purchases made through these links at no extra cost to you. Sugar cane Harvesting in Bundaberg Queensland Australia
Our home has historically been surrounded by sugar cane farms and although many are gone now and being replaced by Macadamia farms there are still quite a few sugar cane fields. The cane harvesting machine is an amazing thing to watch. They cut only about 3 meters or so in one pass so it can take quite a long time to do.
Revealing successes and failures after 5 years with a CNC Plasma build
This machine was built in a hurry, from late 2018 into early 2019. I used some components I already had but purchased quite a few. The machine was built from scratch using a MyPlasma CNC controller as the heart of the electronics and a Hypertherm 45xp as the plasma source. It is not pretty and I apologise for the workshop mess. The machine does however work very well and has provided an income for my family for several years. I expected to be upgrading it not long after the first build but apart from troubleshooting some areas it is mostly as first built. Magical Sunset View in Bundaberg, Australia
Filmed in mid-July in the Bundaberg region of Queensland Australia. At this time of the year, some burning off of cane stubble happens and you get beautiful sunsets like this. The footage was taken at 110 meters with a DJI mini 3 drone, shown at 2x speed. I am certainly impressed with the stability in light wind of the Mini 3.
Harvesting and Burning Sugar Cane - Bundaberg Queensland
This crop of Sugar cane is growing right next door to my house in Queensland, it has been in for about 4 years with a harvest every year. It's necessary to replant after that time and in this 4th year burn the stubble. It actually happens very quickly done in less than an hour and a half and returns some nutrient to the soil for the next planting. Burning off happens far less than it used to in sugar cane production.

First cuts with my home built Co2 laser.
First cuts, this is a 100w Co2 laser tube cutting 3mm MDF. I had played around with it for a fair time by the time I did this video and I think the smoke has affected my mirrors and lens. It was a much cleaner cut. My very next job is to finish the cabinet and install fume extraction.

Discovery 4 Smoke Test solves Restricted Performance DTC mystery.
In this video, I share the journey of tracking down the elusive fault behind my Land Rover’s "Restricted Performance" trouble code. After weeks of troubleshooting, I finally uncovered the issue, and it turned out to be something a smoke test could’ve revealed much sooner! If you're facing this fault, start by checking for obvious leaks. If that doesn’t solve it, don’t waste time like I did—get a smoke test done ASAP. My issue only appeared during cold mornings or while towing uphill, making it especially tricky to diagnose. #troublecode #SmokeTest #lr4 #discovery4 #lr3

Automotive Smoke Tester from a dogs ball a coffee jar and some lamp wick
So I have a problem with my car and having tried all else a smoke test was needed. Paying $200 for a one-use bit of kit is out of the question so I quickly made one using a coffee jar some high-resistance wire a dog's ball, some lamp wick and a power supply you will also need an air supply of some sort. Hey it works lol

Rotary Hoe / Tiller assembly - Able RN0500
I purchased a new rotary hoe from ablesales.com.au so thought I'd video the unbox and assembly. For the price, it's a really well-built machine and once I'd added oil and fuel it literally started the first pull of the starter. I suspect the machine is made in China and probably sold elsewhere under other names. Unfortunately, my SD card filled up quickly and some of the video is missing. but I think you get the idea.

CNC Turning/Carving an oval screwdriver handle
Turning an oval screwdriver handle for a Rolls Royce tool kit on a homemade CNC lathe, total time about 18 mins the handle is made from Elm and requires just a little refinishing to get the shape perfect. Modeled in a friend's copy of Aspire (thanks Mike) which also generated the gcode. Unfortunately, Vcarve Pro v8 (which I have) won't do the tool path for this. The lathe is driven by Mach3 software using Nema 23 steppers etc
Tour of cabin 7246 Superior Ocean View Stateroom Independence of the Seas - Royal Caribbean
SeeA tour of room 7246 on the Independance of the Seas May 2016. The room is located close to the the forward lifts on starboard side of deck 7, we experienced absolutely no noise from the lifts and I would recommend this location. The room was generally very good and the attendant was extremely good, the only very slight niggle was that we were at the end of her list so as early risers when we came back to the room it often hadn't been done yet but someone has to be last I guess. The seal on the sliding door wasn't great (common to all rooms apparently) and on one night with high winds it whistled a lot also when our neighbor had a sneaky fag it was blowing in, after putting up with that for a while but we complained in the end and he stopped doing it. Smoking is not allowed in or near the rooms but you can smoke outside on the port side of deck 4 and deck 11. But all in all a good room, it compared extremely well to a Junior suite that we had on a previous cruise on this ship in all but size.
